Dr. Poosha Darbha

Dr. Poosha Darbha is a sex counselor and therapist with extensive training and practice spanning over 40 + years. He has earned his MSc and PhD in human genetics from Andhra University, India, and is trained in the therapy of Sexual dysfunctions. He is a Fellow and executive member of the Council of Sex Education and Parenthood International (CSEPI), member of International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), a life member of the Indian Association of sex educators, counsellors and therapists (IASECT), and was a member of the American Association of sex educators, counsellors and therapists (AASECT), British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy (BASRT), Founder-President, AP-Telangana Council of Sex Education and Parenthood, and Associate Member, Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. He has been practising psychosexual medicine since 1989 in Andhra Pradesh, India. He has been a faculty and presenter at several National Sexology Conferences.He is currently the editor of the longest-serving sexology magazine, Abhisarika, published in Telugu, since 1949. He has written and published several books on sexual medicine, HIV/AIDS, the Kama Sutra, STDs, menstrual health and other topics in vernacular Telugu.Dr. Poosha is conferred with the prestigious "Golden Lamp Award" (2007) of the CSEPI for his contributions in sexology, Citation for Meritorious Service (2015) from The Rotary Foundation, and "Service Above Self" award - the highest in Rotary International (2019), and Inspirational Sexologist Award (2025) by CSEPI.
