When you hear “Kegels”, you probably think of women after childbirth. But here’s something most men haven’t been told: you have a pelvic floor too—and it plays a huge role in erections and bladder control.
What Is the Male Pelvic Floor?It’s a group of muscles at the base of your pelvis that:
Weak or tense pelvic floor muscles can contribute to urinary leakage, difficulty fully emptying the bladder, and sexual issues.
One simple way: next time you urinate, try gently stopping the flow midstream. The muscles you use to do that are your pelvic floor. (Don’t make a habit of doing this repeatedly—just once or twice to identify them.)
